Ever since I was young, I dreamed of seeing every corner of the globe, immersing myself in diverse cultures, and experiencing the wonders our planet offers. Life's twists and turns might have changed the journey, but my desire to travel never wavered.
My Journey
My love for travel started with family road trips and evolved into solo adventures across continents. Along the way, I learned the art of traveling smart—finding hidden gems, avoiding common pitfalls, and saving money without sacrificing the quality of my experiences. These adventures taught me that the most memorable moments often come from the unexpected and that budget travel can be just as enriching and exciting as luxury vacations.
As a nurse with a lifelong passion for travel. I've always dreamt of exploring the world and have been fortunate enough to turn that dream into reality. I had an amazing business and was doing very well, but COVID-19 changed everything. In March 2020, with a vision for my next adventure, I decided to buy a travel franchise. I thought, what better way to see the world as I get older?
I studied hard, got certified, and prepared myself with the thought that "a few weeks of shelter in place and the world would be ours again." Well, it took a bit longer than expected. Once the COVID fog lifted, I found that I couldn't gain any ground, even with family. The cost of the franchise was no longer viable just to get special rates.
However, my joy for travel remains strong. With what I know, have learned, and experienced, I can share with fellow travelers how to best DIY their adventures. The travel industry has evolved, and a travel adviser is constantly competing with cruise lines, Expedia, and others for those few dollars in commission. I've found a way to have more fun with travel and bring a new perspective to those who wish to learn.
There are so many blogs and YouTubers out there—some great, others offering opinions that can be unnecessarily discouraging. I focus on the planning, the nuts and bolts, and uncovering hidden gems, all with a common-sense approach to your dream vacation, wherever that may take you.
